Noema
Noema è un magazine sulle relazioni tra cultura e tecnologie e sulle loro reciproche influenze. Il termine “cultura” significa anche “abitudini”, “modi di vita”, “comunicazione”, “arte”, “scienza”, “società”, “economia”, “media”, “filosofia”…, mentre il termine “nuove tecnologie” va inteso in maniera più estesa della mera accezione digitale. Noema è sul Web dal marzo 2000. Nel 2003 è divenuto una testata giornalistica e nello stesso anno è stato selezionato da RAI International come miglior sito italiano.
Noema is a magazine devoted to culture-technologies interrelations and influences. “Culture” also means “habits”, “lifestyles”, “communications”, “art”, “society”, “economy”, “science”, “media”, “philosophy”…, while “new technologies” should be intended in a broader meaning than the digital realm. Noema has been on the Web since March 2000. In 2003 it became a registered journal and in the same year RAI International selected it as best Italian website.
Dialoghi attraverso i mari / Dialogues across the Seas
Il progetto “Dialoghi attraverso i mari” è nato nel 2018 con gli eventi organizzati a Cervia, in collaborazione con New Plymouth. Dopo un panel all’ISEA di Montreal nel 2020 sono state realizzate alcune pubblicazioni: due edizioni in inglese di Dialogues across the Seas. The Ocean that keeps us apart also joins us. Charting knowledge and practice in the Anthropocene, uscite nel 2022 e nel 2024 (con la seconda arricchita e ampliata), e un’edizione in italiano, Dialoghi attraverso i mari. Il mare che ci separa, ci unisce. Tracciare conoscenza e pratica nell’Antropocene,uscita nel 2023.
The “Dialogues across the Seas” project was born in 2018 with the events organized in Cervia, in collaboration with New Plymouth. After a panel at the ISEA in Montreal in 2020 were produced some publications: two English editions of Dialogues across the Seas. The Ocean that keeps us apart also joins us. Charting knowledge and practice in the Anthropocene, released in 2022 and 2024 (with the second enriched and expanded), and an Italian edition, Dialoghi attraverso i mari. Il mare che ci separa, ci uniti. Tracciare conoscenza e pratica nell’Antropocene, released in 2023.
art*science
art*science è una conferenza internazionale sulle relazioni tra discipline artistiche e scientifiche. La prima edizione, nel 2017, celebrava i 50 anni di Leonardo, la più autorevole rivista sul rapporto tra arti, scienze e tecnologie, pubblicata da MIT Press. Il tema generale di art*science 2017 è stato “Il Nuovo e la Storia”, la relazione tra due concetti apparentemente in opposizione che invece possono e devono convivere. Il “nuovo”, l’“innovazione”, hanno le radici nella storia ma possono proiettare questa eredità nel futuro grazie alla collaborazione tra arti, scienze e tecnologie.
art*science is an International conference on the relationship between artistic and scientific disciplines. The first edition in 2017 celebrated the 50th aniversary of Leonardo journal, published by MIT Press, the most influential in the international arena on the relationships among arts, sciences and technologies. Its general topic was “The New and History”, the relationship between two seemingly opposing concepts that may and must coexist. The “new”, the “innovation”, have roots in history but they can project this heritage into the future thanks to the collaboration among arts, sciences and technologies.

e-learning.lab
L’e-lab (e-learning.lab) nasce nel 2002 nell’ambito delle attività di Noema, come sperimentazione di una piattaforma collaborativa di supporto alla formazione. L’e-lab è a disposizione dei corsi che se ne vogliono avvalere per condividere materiali, confrontarsi sugli argomenti e integrare le attività didattiche. La versione 2 dell’e-lab offre molte più possibilità della versione 1, che comunque abbiamo mantenuto qui.
The e-lab (e-learning.lab) was born in 2002 from Noema‘s activities as a teaching platform to collaborate. The e-lab is online for the courses which need a learning system to share material, confront on topics and improve their teaching activities. The release 2 of the e-lab gives much more possibilities than the release 1, which anyway we have maintained here.
